The Technical Fundamentals Primer covers five foundational skills that show up across nearly every technical and skilled-trades job: workplace safety awareness, measurement and math, reading technical drawings and schematics, a basic troubleshooting method with common hand tools, and clear technical communication and documentation. Instead of teaching any one trade in depth, this primer builds the shared foundation that makes learning any specific trade or technical role faster and less intimidating, whether you're headed toward electrical work, HVAC, manufacturing, automotive, or another hands-on technical field.
What you will learn
- By the end you will be able to identify basic workplace safety hazards and describe standard practices like PPE use and hazard reporting
- By the end you will be able to perform common measurement conversions and basic math used in technical and trades work
- By the end you will be able to read a simple technical drawing or schematic and identify its key symbols and information
